A rich range of natural colors allows you to create beautiful, subtle products with a unique appearance.
Remember! Proper care of alpaca yarn and clothes will ensure their durability and beautiful appearance for a long time.
Advantages of alpaca wool:
Thin and delicate like silk:
- We measure the thickness of the fibers in microns (1 μm = 0.001 mm).
- The alpaca fleece (13-21 microns) can be thinner even than cashmere (14-16 microns), merino wool (15-24 microns), or mohair (21-28 microns)!
- The alpaca wool impresses with its softness and pleasant touch, ideal even for bare skin.
Warm and light like fluff:
- 6 times warmer than sheep's wool, and at the same time extremely light.
- Even openwork scarves made of fine yarn provide thermal comfort.
Strong and durable as steel:
- 3 times more tear resistant than sheep's wool.
- Clothes made of alpaca wool are more durable and wear-resistant.
Thermoregulatory like a chameleon:
- It adapts to the ambient temperature - warms in winter, cools in summer.
Does not retain moisture like a sponge:
- It absorbs only 15-20% moisture, providing a feeling of dryness.
Hypoallergenic like mild muslin:
- Ideal for allergy sufferers and asthmatics - it does not contain lanolin or chemicals.
- Resistant to dust mites and dirt.
Natural color palette like a painter's palette:
- It comes in 16 primary colors and 80 earth tones.
- Eco-friendly - does not require chemical dyeing.
Silky sheen like a lake slab:
- Thin fibers with long scales reflect light, giving a silky sheen.
- Clothes do not plump, maintaining durability for years.
Not as flammable as a salamander:
- When exposed to fire, it melts rather than burns - ideal for firefighter vests.
Slow Fashion - sustainable choice:
- Breeding alpacas does not harm the environment, alpacas do not destroy pastures.
- Clothes made of alpaca wool are of high quality, durable and healthy.
Alpaca wool is a luxurious and exclusive material with unusual properties. Ideal for those who value comfort, warmth and natural beauty.
skewers
The high quality of the yarn is also evidenced by its thinness. One skein weighing 100g is as much as 400 running meters of yarn.
Available in three lovely colours - ecru, beige and milk chocolate, our yarn is the perfect choice for hand knitting enthusiasts who want to create delicate and warm designs.
Thanks to the unique properties of the yarn, it is possible to create unique openwork scarves or sweaters, which, despite the subtle holes, are extremely warm. This is the perfect solution for those looking for a light and at the same time warm fabric for knitting. When creating a scarf, only 150-200 g of our yarn is enough, and only 100 g allows you to make as many as two hats. This efficiency of yarn wear makes our product not only of high quality, but also economical.
In our offer you will find yarn made from selected fleece of our alpaca by a renowned spinning mill in Denmark. The whole process of making yarn is lengthy and is largely based on manual labor. After trimming, we clean the alpaca fleece by hand and carefully sort it so that only very thin and devoid of coarse hairs, which are responsible for “biting” the wool, go to the production of the yarn.
Next, the fleece is sent to a professional spinning mill in Denmark, where it is thoroughly washed in mild detergents, dried, grooved and rolled into 8/2 yarn.
Our yarn is made of 100% ultrafine, superfine and semi-fine fleece so that the whole can qualify for the category “baby alpaca”, that is, less than 21 microns.
KNITTING
For knitting, we recommend a size of 3 - 3.5 mm, and for crochet 3 mm.
Knitting on alpaca yarn is a fascinating experience that opens up a wide range of creative possibilities for the craftsman. This unique yarn, characterized by low microns and extraordinary delicacy, is ideal for creating projects with a subtle character. Sweaters, scarves or blankets made of this yarn exude luxury and at the same time are extremely warm. The choice between knitting and crochet depends on the preferences of the creator and the nature of the design. Knitting is perfect for creating textile creations such as sweaters or scarves, where evenly spaced eyelets are important. In turn, the crochet allows you to create lace patterns and delicate openwork, which is perfect for the design of decorative, light shawls or decorative elements. Regardless of the choice of tool, knitting on alpaca yarn is not only the process of creating high-quality products, but also a relaxing experience that allows you to enjoy the delicacy and comfort of this unique material.
